This is a disturbing and beautiful movie. Kids actors like Giuseppe Cristiano (Michele) makes you wonder why we even become adults, then you see Aitana Sánchez-Gijón (his Mother) and you know why (first time I saw her was in Boca a Boca with Javier Bardem). But this movie is not about the adults not worth redeeming but about the kids. With a sumptuous cinematography (Italo Petriccione also with -Director- Gabriele Salvatores in Mediterraneo) you are in the heat of that Italian summer, with a little luck you are transported to the summers of your childhood. Emotions, depth and reflection of Italian/Spanish Cinema in its purest form.
The original music, reminiscent of barroque music brings to your guts Michele's determination and fear(?)

Fri, July 16, 2004 - 10:50 PMI agree completely, this was a beautiful film. It was my favorite in the International Film Festival here in Portland this past February, and now it's back in the theatres. -
