A LECTURE BY GIANFRANCO ANGELUCCI
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3
7:30 P.M.
University of Nevada Las Vegas
CBC A 112
The presentation will examine the life and work of Federico Fellini, one of Italy's most renowned and beloved filmmakers. Over the course of his career, Fellini won four Academy Awards for Best Foreign Film. In 1993 he was honored by the Academy with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The very name Fellini has come to stand for the art film itself and the auteur film culture.
In his talk, Gianfranco Angelucci, Fellini's aid and personal friend for twenty years, will describe the director's fantastic cinematic vision and shed unique light on his personality and techniques. The presentation will be followed by the showing of Intervista [Interview] (1987), a film that Angelucci coscripted with Fellini, and that earned him a special prize at the Cannes Film Festival and the First Prize at the Moscow Film Festival.
